What do Service Desk Specialists at Verus Do?

  • Balance daily workload, answering and prioritizing calls and tickets
  • Install, support, and troubleshoot software and hardware issues remotely
  • Gather technical information for Engineers or on-site escalations
  • Be part of a rotation responding to after-hours calls and emergencies to mitigate client downtime
  • Perform on-site support at client sites when necessary
  • Maintain client environments with special attention to security on all data and voice systems
  • Exceed customer expectations of service and know-how with every client interaction
  • Maintain internal knowledgebase and ticketing information on an ongoing basis
  • Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years experience
  • Education: Microsoft Certification or Two-year college degree in Information Technology; or equivalent experience
  • This position is not an entry-level position and will require a combination of skills and experience for consideration

What does it take to be a Service Desk Specialist?

  • Two years related experience with helpdesk/desktop support in a professional environment
  • Call center or client-facing experience Preferred
  • Strong PC Operating System, hardware, and networking fundamentals
  • Active Directory, managing user accounts, M365, security groups, and permissions
  • Systems: file servers, file Structure, and folder permissions, print servers
  • Networking: Basic understanding of networking including switching, firewalls, and ISP
  • Willingness to go above and beyond to resolve client issues
  • Spam Filtering
  • Data Backup and Restore Fundamentals
  • Security: Identifying and resolving malicious software issues
  • Enjoy Working with dynamic clients and the latest technology
