Verus Joins Denver, Seattle Exchanges
VERUS CORPORATION JOINS DENVER AND SEATTLE INTERNET EXCHANGES
Combination with Minnesota Internet Cooperative Exchange (MICE)
gives Verus customers advantages for lower latency and faster Internet connections
Coon Rapids, MN – December 7, 2017 – Verus Corporation has officially joined both the Seattle Internet Exchange (SIX) and the Interconnection Exchange-Denver (IX-Denver) to further expand the ability to provide faster, more affordable Internet service to hosted customers, with lower latency and less chance of downtime.
Verus traffic now traverses dual 10 Gb connections into SIX, with more than 4 Terabytes of capacity and over 1 Terabyte of peered traffic. Verus traffic also traverses a 10 Gb path to Denver and MICE. This means Verus is now connected into three of the top 30 Internet Exchange Points in the world.
In addition to the advantages of high speed data transfer and reduced latency, peering through the exchanges also allows for providing fault tolerance, and improving routing efficiency and bandwidth. Additionally, direct peering is now available with some of the largest web-based companies in the world, including Amazon, Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Dropbox, and more.
