Tech Guides: Using the WatchGuard Authentication Client Download

In this week’s tech guide, we’ll take you through a couple of different methods for installing the WatchGuard Authentication Client download. This SSO client allows users to skip the additional steps of authenticating to the Firebox by logging them in directly when they sign onto their devices. This grants authorized users access to your business’ internet, as well as network resources.

Download the SSO Client Software
1. Go to the WatchGuard Software Downloads Center.
2. Find the software downloads page for your Firebox model.
3. Download the WatchGuard Single Sign-On Client software installer file for your computer:
  1. Windows — WG-Authentication-Client.msi
  2. Mac OS X — WG-SSOCLIENT-MAC.dmg
4. Save the file to a convenient location, such as your desktop.
Install the SSO Client Software
1. To install the SSO Client:
  1. Double-click the SSO Client installer file you downloaded.
  2. Run the file as an administrator
  3. To install the software, follow the instructions on each page of the wizard and complete the wizard.
  4. Click Close to exit the wizard.

Once installation is complete, the WatchGuard Authentication Client will automatically run and allow users to conveniently login to the FireBox without additional steps.
